PURPOSE:To record high gradation and high quality image by a method wherein voltage, which is applied at all times to the direction for checking ion flow and by the intensity level of which ion flow is controlled, is applied to the ion flow controlling electrode of a recording head. CONSTITUTION:Electric field 16 generated by an upper electrode and a lower electrode is always one, which is applied to the direction so as to check ion flow by acting ion flow checking force 19 to the ion 18 accelerated by upper electric field 17, resulting in controlling the emission of ion in the ion flow by the intensity level of the ion flow checking electric field. Under the condition that the voltage, which is higher than the certain fixed voltage, is applied at all times between the upper electrode and the lower electrode, by the intensity level of the voltage, ion flow can be controlled. Further, since the ion flow is controlled by the force applied only to the direction for checking the emission of ion to the ion flow controlling electrode, the crosssectional area of the ion flow flowing through the ion discharging hole becomes smaller, resulting in allowing to make the crosssectional area of the ion flow smaller even when the diameter of the ion discharging hole is larger. |
