Stuffed chip is produced using appts. where the vegetable (24) is cut into chips (11) and held in a support (9). A tube is cut longitudinally through the centre of each chip and pushed out, a stuffing is then pushed into each opening produced. During cutting and stuffing the vegetable is held in a cylindrical sleeve (9), open at either end, and containing cutters (10) which cut the chips themselves (11). The central holes are cut by parallel tubes and the cores pushed out by rods. The tubes and rods are guided by a perforated plate which is attached to the top of the sleeve. Stuffing is dosed into the openings from a reservoir with openings corresponding to the holes in the chips, and piston which pushes stuffing into them. Finally, stuffed chips are pushed from the support by bars mounted on a plate. |
