PURPOSE:To provide the method and device for image processing which verify whether the additional function of specific information surely acts or not. CONSTITUTION:'Pattern addition test' is first displayed (S101) to wait for depression of a 'pattern addition test' key (S102), and a test pattern to which yellow dots are added as specific information is outputted (S103) when the key is depressed. 'Test pattern read' is next displayed (S104) to wait for depression of a 'test pattern read' key (S105), and a test print is read (S106) when the key is depressed. It is checked whether the number of picture elements of yellow dots is within an allowable error range or not (S107), and 'Copy is possible.' is displayed (S108) if it is within this range, but 'The pattern adding function is defective.' is displayed for a certain time if it is not within this range. |
