A tolerance ring (1) of polymer material is arranged between a radial roller bearing (2) and a seating surface (6) on a shaft (7) or in a housing hole. The tolerance ring (1) is supported, on the one hand, at least in an axial direction on a radially directed surface (9) of the seating surface (6) and, on the other hand, has a radially directed surface on which a raceway (3) of the roller bearing (2) is supported in the same axial direction by means of an end surface (10). According to the invention, the arrangement is selected such that the radially directed surface (9) of the seating surface (6) and the end surface (10) of the raceway (3) are not superimposed radially. In this manner, in the event of axial overload, the radially directed surface of the tolerance ring (1) is sheared off and the roller bearing (2) is displaced axially by the tolerance ring (1) thus preventing its destruction. <IMAGE> |
