PURPOSE: To avoid a risk of sticking a needle into a hand of an operator by providing a cut part located between a body part and a shape tip which is smoothly merged into a smooth outer surface of the distal end of the cut part. CONSTITUTION: A surgical needle 10 has a distal end 12, a cut part 14, adjacent to the former, having a cutting blade 16, a body part 18 adjacent to the cut part 14, and a suture attaching end part 20 attached by stamping and having a suitable suture 22. Further, the needle 30 (10) has a triangular cross-sectional shape having an area which gradually decreases through a cut zone 34, and terminates in a blunt tip 36. The bottom side of the triangular is located above the inside of the curved surface, and the top apex thereof is located outside of the curved surface. The cut zone 34 includes three cutting blades 38, 40 and 42 of which the cutting blade 38 is a reverse cut blade. Further, the blunt tip 36 is formed in a triangular dome shape and a flat triangular shape having rounded corners. |
