PURPOSE:To surely prevent the defect of image quality caused by a toner sensor detecting the presence of toner in a developing device or the damage of respective component parts. CONSTITUTION:This image forming device provided with a developing housing 61 disposed opposite to a photoreceptor 33, a toner box 76 replenishing one- component system toner T into the developing housing 61, a developing roll 65 for developing an electrostatic an electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor 33 provided in the developing housing 61, a toner supplying/ carrying member for supplying the toner T to the developing roll 65, the toner sensor 55 detecting the presence of the toner T on at least one side of the developing housing 61 and the toner box 76 has a means counting the number of prints or image signals by the consecutive detection of a toner presence signal from the toner sensor 55, a means counting the number of the prints and image signals by the consecutive detection of a toner absence signal and a means displaying abnormality and simultaneously stopping the work of a device when the counted integrated value exceeds a prescribed value. |
