Each blade (2) sweeps between limiting radial lines (1a,1b), at one of which (1a) it is parked when not required. The motion ia derived, via the usual reciprocating crank and linkage, from a drive motor shaft with a cam successively closing two adjacent sets of contacts connected to the wiper controller. These signals determine when the motion must be halted to achieve the parked position. In addition, the sequential signals allow the controller to stop the blade, alternately, just as it approaches, or just as it leaves, the lower limiting position, each time the blades are parked.
