Process for the treatment of an article made of superconductive ceramic of (Ln)1Ba2Cu3O7- delta type, where Ln is chosen from the rare-earth group with the exception of cerium and terbium, which process is intended to reduce the value of delta , according to which a heat treatment of the said article is performed under oxidising atmosphere, characterised in that, during the said treatment, an electrical current with a density of between 0.1 and 2 A/cm<3> is passed through the said article, the said treatment atmosphere exhibiting a partial oxygen pressure of between 0.1 and 1 atmosphere, the temperature of the treatment being between 200 DEG C and 500 DEG C, the duration of the said treatment being between 1 hour and 200 hours.
