<p>PURPOSE: To facilitate the replacement of a rail piece by providing a cutting edge made of a highly wear-resistant material such as polycrystalline diamond material integrally with a base part to form a rail piece, and mounting it on a groove provided on the angle part of a holder to form a cutting strip. CONSTITUTION: A cutting edge 5 made of a highly wear-resistant material, for example, polycrystalline diamond material, is firmly bonded to a base part 25 to form a rail piece 4 of a prescribed length. A plurality of such rail pieces 4 is serially arranged along two adjacent end parts 2, 3 of a holder 1 made of a wear-resistant material, for example, cemented carbide, and having an essentially rectangular section to constitute a cutting strip. A groove with essentially parallel surfaces 13, 14 extending diagonally into the holder 1 is formed on each end part 2, 3 of the holder 1, and the rail piece 4 is mounted in the groove and fixed by screwing or fastening of a clamping piece.</p> |
