PURPOSE: To attain sealing function without replacing an O-ring attached to a connection member by fitting a sealing assembly into a threaded opening and retaining therein. CONSTITUTION: A seal assembly is used for a housing H with a fluid chamber and a threaded opening O. A connection member 11 of a sensor assembly or the like is screwed with the opening. The housing has a counterbore CB formed between the threaded opening O and an external surface S. The seal assembly includes an elastic sealing material on a periphery of a rigid support member 23, that is, a close contact portion between a lower side 16 of an expanded portion of the connection member, and inner, outer portions 33, 35 of a cylindrical portion 27. When the seal assembly is pressfitted into the counterbore CB, it may be permanently retained theyrein by means of the interference fit therebetween. When the connection member is screwed into the opening, a sealing lip 39 is deformed in a radially inward direction and engaged with a threaded portion 13. As a result, sealing function is attained without replacing an O-ring on the side of the connection member.
