PURPOSE: To mount an inflator without rattling by forming a flange base in a generally cylindrical shape with a side wall terminating on one end in an inwardly tapered conical flange, when mounting the inflator having the flange base to a reaction can. CONSTITUTION: A reaction can stores a folded airbag and an inflator, the inflator being mounted within the container by a mounting device 34. The mounting device 34 is a generally cylindrical circular tube with an opening 36 formed by a generally straight cylindrical wall 38. A cylindrical mounting flange 40 is formed on one end of the mounting device 34, and an inwardly tapered conical flange 44 is formed on the other end through a step 42. An edge 46 facing inwardly in a radial direction of the conical flange 44 has a generally circular opening which is suitable for storing and engaging a inflator base covering part 28, and the inflator is positioned by abutting a flange base 30 thereof against the step 42.
