PURPOSE:To obtain a double layer coppery sintered sliding member excellent in sliding characteristic and fatigue resistance by integrating a sintered layer of copper alloy, having a specific composition consisting of tin, lead, spheroidal carbon, and copper, with a backing steel plate into double layer state. CONSTITUTION:A sintered layer of copper alloy, which consists of, by weight, 1-11% tin, 1-30% lead, 0.5-5% spheroidal carbon, and the balance essentially copper and further contains, if necessary, 0.1-1% phosphorus, is integrated with a backing steel plate into double layer state. Amorphous type carbon is suitably used as the above spheroidal carbon, and it is preferable to regulate its hardness and grain size to >=100 by Shore D hardness and 5-50mum, respectively. Further, it is preferable that, when A means the grain size of the copper alloy powder constituting the above sintered copper alloy layer and B means the grain size of the spheroidal carbon, B/A is regulated to 0.45-0.15. |
