In a clutch-brake device wherein a driven clutch-brake disc 22 is biased into engagement with a driving clutch disc 24 and is moved axially to disengage the clutch and engage a brake surface 26 on energization of a stationary electromagnet 28, the driven disc 22 is connected to a hub 32 on a driven shaft 10 by a rubber annulus 30 which permits the axial movement of the driven disc 22. As shown the driven disc 22 is pressed into engagement with the driving clutch disc 24 by a spring 34. In Fig. 3 (not shown) the rubber annulus (36) biases the driven disc (22) into engagement with the driving disc (24). |
