The invention relates to a method for the production of a component (1) of a high-temperature fuel cell. It is intended that a plate (2) is produced which has a right parallelepiped recess (2a) on one of its two large surfaces. An insert metal sheet (5, 6), onto which ribs (5a, 6a) are integrally formed, is inserted into the recess (2a) in order to form parallel channels. After the insert metal sheet (5, 6) has been inserted into the recess (2a) and the plate (2), the insert metal sheet (5, 6), in particular each of the ribs (5a, 6a), extends at most as far as the edge of the recess (2a).
