Clutch unit combining into a single compact easily replaceable assembly all the components which are subject to wear and stress, and which need to be replaced regularly. This device facilitates servicing, by simplifying it, and very substantially reduces the time required for any operation on most of the components constituting the clutch system by eliminating the need to dismantle the "driving source/driven assembly" assembly, or even just one of these two members. The device includes a splined sleeve for positive coupling of drive shaft and clutch disc, this being telescopic. The device according to the invention is particularly suited to use in cars. <IMAGE>
