A cold-air circulation system which does not blow cold air onto the freight of a refrigeration container to avoid the freight drying out, and ensures the transportation of refrigerated or frozen freight in that the quantity of cold air is blown upwards uniformly along the side walls (114) which bound a container (100). As a result, the temperature distribution in the interior of the container (100) is kept constant. The system comprises flow deflection plates (112) for the cold air in the region of the outlet of a refrigeration unit (a), bottom rails (110) which are arranged spaced apart and in the longitudinal direction of the container on the bottom (108) thereof, guide duct elements (116) which are designed as an L-profile, and ventilation damping plates (117) for closing the end regions of the bottom rails (110). The guide duct elements (116) each consist of half-elements which are fitted together to form an L-profile, one half-element (116a) being arranged in such a way that it covers a plurality of bottom rails (110) near to an assigned longitudinal side wall, while the other half-element (116b) is disposed perpendicularly on the one half-element (116a) at a predetermined distance from the longitudinal side wall (114).
