PURPOSE: To improve operation in floating by providing two steps or levels in front of the ski part and also forming some angle against the vertical shaft direction of the slider in the rising part of the steps. CONSTITUTION: The operation of a slider 10 is as follows. In the upper inside position of a track situated near the center of a disk, the air flowing in by the rotation of the disk is collided with a rising part CM1 with a sufficient width by the inclination, and is particularly effective at the floatation starting time of the slider 10 in the first step M1. In the outer position, the air is made to flow in in the direction nearly in contact with the rising part CM1 while the slider is inclined by an angleβ1, causing no collision of air flow. Thus, the slider is made to demonstrate its function sufficiently against the second rising part CM2, with an excessive inclination prevented that may affect the stability of the slider. In this case, the heights h1, h2 of the rising parts CM1, CM2 are set as 20-200nm and 0.2-2μm respectively.
