PURPOSE:A novel nonreducing oligosaccharide having a trehalose structure in its molecule, its production and use thereof. CONSTITUTION:A nonreducing oligosaccharide represented by the general formula: alpha-D-oligoglycosyl-alpha-D-oligoglucoside. The production process for this nonreducing saccharide is to allow a trans-glycosidase to act on an aqueous solution containing trehalose and alpha-glycosyl saccharide or an aqueous solution containing a non-reducing saccharide bearing the trehalose structure on the chain terminal. The beverage, cosmetics and medicinal preparation containing this oligosaccharide.
