摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a solid laser for single longitudinal mode laser oscillation by arranging two solid laser crystals of the same kind having specified thickness, with their nonreflecting coating faces upward and mirror coating faces outward. CONSTITUTION:In case that the thickness of a laser crystal is larger than the absorption length of itself, the upper limit of the single mode power is decided by individual crystal properties. Accordingly, the upper limit of the single longitudinal mode operation goes up with 200mum in thickness. The length of an active region shall be 200mum or under and the lower limit shall be 30mum from the problem of processing. The same laser crystals 3a and 3b with thicknesses more than 30 and less than 200mum are arranged at both ends of a standing wave resonator. The high reflecting films with oscillated waves and the nonreflecting film with semiconductor laser waves are applied to the outside end face, and the nonreflecting film with oscillated waves is applied to the inside end face. The laser beams radiated from two pieces of semiconductor laser elements 1a and 1b are condensed with condensing lenses 2a and 2b, and those are applied to laser crystals 3a and 3b, whereby the gain can be doubled while keeping the properties of single longitudinal mode oscillation.
