PURPOSE:To perform the stable feed of paper sheets through suppression of the occurrence of unevenness in a paper feed pressure by providing a first resilient member which is capable of pressing upward a loading plate and held in a position of non-engagement with a loading plate according to the moving position of a width direction regulating member and a second resilient member located inside the first resilient member and pressing upward the loading plate. CONSTITUTION:A first pressure spring 4a and a second pressure spring 4b arranged more inside in the direction of the width of a sheet than the first pressure spring 4a are arranged in a tray 1. A loading plate 3 is pushed upward through the forces of the first and second pressure springs 4a and 4b and a paper sheet S on the loading plate 3 is pressurized against a feed roller 8. In the tray 1, a side fence 5 is disposed at the end face of a paper sheet crossing the advancing direction of the sheet S at right angles and movable according to the size of the paper sheet. This constitution stabilizes a contact pressure between the feed roller 8 and the paper sheet S according to the size of the paper sheet and improves the degree of allowance for a double feed and an underfeed.
