<p>In delivery lines from rotary presses it is actual to transfer a row of printed copies (2) in imbricated formation from a belt conveyor (4) to a chain conveyor (14) having gripping members (12) for gripping the front edge of the copies. It is a problem, however, to ascertain a safe gripping, but this is remedied by the invention in using an acceleration conveyor (10), by means of which the copies are positively projected into the gripping means (12) prior to these being actuated to clamp the front edges of the copies. Pressure means (22 and 26, 28) are used for ensuring that the acceleration of the copies takes place in an efficient and uniform manner.</p> |
