PURPOSE:To attain sufficiently effective 'KANA' (Japanese syllabary)/'KANJI' (Chinese character) conversion processing without requiring large storage capacity by securing an area for one or two succeeding clause candidates as a succeeding clause storing area. CONSTITUTION:A reference clause is extracted, a succeeding clause candidate is extracted and the objective reference clause is updated to the succeeding reference clause (S11). If the objective reference clause is not extracted, processing is allowed to end (S12). Then the succeeding clause candidate is registered in a succeeding clause stored in a succeeding clause storing area, the reference clause is extracted, its succeeding clause candidate is extracted, and the objective reference clause is updated to the succeeding reference clause (S13, S14). If the objective reference clause is not extracted, the processing ends (S15), a succeeding clause candidate is registered in a succeeding clause stored in the succeeding clause storing area, inter-clause connection information between two reference clauses to be processed at present and the succeeding clause candidates is calculated and registered in an inter-clause connection information storing area (S16, S17). The contents of two inter-clause connection information are mutually compared, an effective reference clause is determined and connected to its succeeding clause (S18, S19). |
