Roller shutter (1) designed to protect an opening, such as in particular a window, door or similar opening, comprising a casing (2) fitted at each of its ends with an end plate (5, 6) enclosing a drum (9) around which a shutter or blind is wound, slideways (12, 13) for guiding the shutter, and an assembly pin (14) provided in the region of each end plate (5, 6) for assembling the casing (2) onto the slideways (12, 13). According to the invention, the said assembly pins (14) are retractable and comprise means (15) for immobilising and locking the said assembly pins (14) in a mounted position in which they project with respect to the casing (2). <IMAGE>
