ANTINEOPLASTIC SUBSTANCE BE-13793X AND BE-13793XA

PURPOSE:To provide new substances BE-13793X and BE-13793XA having high carcinostatic activity, useful as antineoplastic agents. CONSTITUTION:The objective compounds, i.e., BE-13793X of formula I and BE-13793XA of formula II. The former substance can be obtained by inoculating a nutrient-contg. medium with microbes (mutant): Streptoverticillium sp. BA-13793 to grow them aerobically and by separating and purifying the resultant cultured product through solvent extraction or one of various kinds of chromatography. The latter substance can be obtained by hydrolyzing the compound of the formula I in an acidic state.
