PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer ink sheet capable of forming an ink dot free from a void or cutout even on rough surface paper and capable of forming a good color image with a high reproducibility. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer ink sheet for forming a color image is constituted by providing a hot-melt yellow ink layer 2Y, a hot-melt magenta ink layer 2M and a hot-melt cyan ink layer 2C each of which consists of vehicle based on a waxy substance and a resin component contained in a ratio of 20% by wt. of the whole vehicle on a base material 1 side by side and providing a substantially colorless and transparent hot-melt layer 3 based on a waxy substance and having melt viscosity of 3-95cps/100 deg.C so as to cover at least the respective color ink layers. |
