摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To provide the fitting structure of the horn pad of a steering wheel which prevents the horn from unexpectedly sounding due to an unexpected inertia force acting on the horn pad. CONSTITUTION:A horn pad P is fitted so as to be movable by a specified distance via locking members 25 engaged with the steering wheel 20 at a plurality of its positions to be movable in parallel with the rotary axis direction of the steering wheel and energized to the retreat position by a spring. When the horn pad is pushed against the spring, an alarm is provided by electric connection to the horn. A plane including at least three positions among the engaging positions of locking members 25 is arranged close to the gravitational center of the horn pad or a pin member extending to the width direction of a vehicle and a slit, which engages with the pin member and allows the movement of the horn pad in the axial direction of steering rotary shaft but restrict its movement crossing at right angles with the above movement are provided. In this way, the horn pad is prevented from rotating against the steering wheel 20 owing to the inertia force acting thereon.</p>
