PURPOSE:To make motion at the moving time smooth and fixation at the stop time firm in the connection of two object faces moving relatively and also making a stop. CONSTITUTION:Connecting mechanism is formed of a bottomed cylindrical container 11, a rotating shaft 12 inserted rotatably in the liquid-tight state into the container 11 from the opening part of the container 11, an electroviscous fluid 13 filled in the liquid-tight state in the container 11, and electrodes 15a, 15b disposed in the electroviscous fluid 13. Voltage is applied between the electrodes 15a, 15b so as to change the viscosity of the electroviscous fluid 13 and to change the rotational resistance of the rotating shaft 12. At the normal time, voltage is left applied to keep the rotation of the rotating shaft 12 firmly at a stop, and at the rotating time, voltage is released to make the rotation of the rotating shaft 12 smooth. |
