PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of defective products by specifically setting the thickness of a metal sheet, width of an overlapped part, pressing force of a horn, and the amplitude of the horn. CONSTITUTION:Coiled long metal sheets 12a, 12b are joined by welding. The overlapped part of the metal sheets 12a, 12b is held between the horn 22 and the anvil 20 of an ultrasonic welding equipment. The horn 22 is ultrasonically vibrated while pressing the horn by means of a vibrator 26 and an ultrasonic oscillator 28. In such ultrasonic welding, the thickness of the metal sheets 12a, 12b is set at 0.40mm or less, and the width of the overlapped part 14 in 1.5 to 4.0mm. In addition, the pressing force of the horn 22 is set at 50kgf or higher, and the amplitude X of the horn 22 in 20mum or more. A plural number of the isolated places of the overlapped part 14 are simultaneously welded ultrasonically. The ultrasonic welding is performed while moving the horn back and forth. Thus, a remarkable reduction of working time, automation and saving of manpower of a welding operation are attained. |
