A stepping motor comprises a shaft (20) which has a magnet (22) which is coaxially arranged thereon; a pair of coils (26A, 26B) which are composed of a soft-magnetic material and are arranged coaxially with respect to the shaft (20) on both sides of the magnet (22) along the axis thereof; A phase and B phase windings (38A, 38B) which are wound around the coils (26A, 26B); yokes (34) whose base plate regions are in each case mounted on the end region of each of the coils (26A, 26B) on the side of the magnet (22) and which have short pole tines (50A, 50B) which partially face the outer circumferential surface of the magnet (22); long pole tines (48A, 48B) which are composed of a soft-magnetic material and whose one end is detachably connected by means of the end region of each of the coils (26A, 28B) to the side opposite the magnet (22) and whose other end faces the other region of the outer circumferential surface of the magnet (22); and supporting elements (52) for the pole tines which are composed of nonmagnetic material and are arranged coaxially in order to surround the external circumference of the magnet (22), all the long pole tines (48A, 48B) being firmly mounted on the supporting elements (52) for the pole tines, while the short pole tines (50A, 50B) are detachably inserted into retaining sections (53A, 53B) for pole tines, which sections are in each case constructed in the supporting elements (52) of the pole tines. <IMAGE>
