18 Disclosed is a tandem axle suspension for use in a vehicle such as a truck or semi-trailer, which is particularly efficient and stable and well adapted for use when the axles support steering wheels. The suspension has, on each side, front and rear leaf-spring assemblies that are aligned with respect to each other and positioned forwardly and rearwardly of an equalizer beam. The front leaf-spring assembly has a front end pivotably connected by a pin to the vehicle frame and a rear end connected by a shackle to the front end of the equalizer beam. The rear leaf-spring assembly has a front end pivotably connected by a pin to the rear end of the equalizer beam and a rear end connected by a shackle to the frame of the vehicle.
