Wrapping machine for forming double-fold twisted wrappers, especially for pastry and confectionery products, composed of a wrapping unit 1, a twist-forming unit 2, and an intermediate conveyor belt 24. The wrapping unit includes a bed on which are arranged a unit 6 for supplying a laminar web for forming wrappers, a unit 9 for shaping a tubular wrapper, a longitudinal conveyor 3 which introduces the products to be wrapped into the wrapper, a unit 4 for entraining the wrapper with the products inside it, and a unit 5 for welding and cutting said wrapper. The twist-forming unit includes two clamp assemblies 31 arranged in facing annular groups mounted on two parallel, rotary plates 30. Each clamp 31 can rotate individually. <IMAGE>
