摘要 <p>Provided are a float glass which can be used in display panels such as PDP due to its small difference between longitudinal thermal contraction rate and lateral thermal contraction rate, a method for producing the glass and a display panel using the glass. The float glass has a difference of ±5ppm between the longitudinal thermal contraction rate and the lateral thermal contraction rate when it is thermally treated under conditions that include increasing temperature from room temperature to 600 deg.C at a rate of 10 deg.C/minute, keeping the temperature at 600 deg.C for 30 minutes and decrease the temperature to room temperature at a rate of 10 deg.C/minute. The float glass has a thickness of 0.7 to 5.0 mm. The raw material of the glass(R) is supplied to a furnace(1), melted at about 1600 deg.C, degassed, cooled to 1300 to 1100 deg.C and supplied to a float bus(2). The melted glass is formed into a glass plate with melted tin(4) in the bus(2). The glass plate is solidified in the middle of the bus(2) and cooled to 600 deg.C near the outlet of the bus(2). The glass plate is introduced to a cooling line(3) by a roll(5) for cooling.</p>
