A method of suspending scaffolding from a completed roof is described. Firstly, anchor a pair of bodies to a first slope of a roof opposite a second slope of the roof from an edge of which a scaffolding is to be suspended. Each body has a coupling end which projects above a peak of the roof; the coupling end having a female coupling. Secondly, insert first ends of a pair of elongate members into the female couplings on the bodies and secure the first ends in place. A second end of the elongate members extends past the edge of the second slope. Thirdly, position support columns adjacent the second end of the elongate members, The support columns are disposed between the second slope and the elongate member such that the support columns are the only point of contact on the second slope. Fourthly, suspend the scaffolding from the second ends of the elongate members.
