PURPOSE:To provide the automatic measuring method for the outer shape of a test tube for lowering a nozzle tip at the optimum lowering speed in response to the inner diameter of each test tube even if the test tubes having the different inner diameters are held in the standing attitude in the same test tube stand. CONSTITUTION:When a test tube 10 in conveyance starts to pass an optical sensor 12, the ON signal from the optical sensor 12 is outputted into an amplifier 22. When the test tube has passed the sensor 12, the OFF signal is outputted into the amplifier 22. Meanwhile, a rotary encoder 20, which is attached to a conveying mechanism for the test tube, generates the pulse signals, wherein the conveying interval per pules is determined beforehand, during the operation of the conveying mechanism. An adder 24 inputs the signals outputted from the amplifier 22 and the signals outputted from the rotary encoder 20 and inputs a signal sum into an outer-diameter operating circuit 26. The outer-diameter operating circuit 26 counts the pulse signals outputted from the rotary encoder 20 during the input of the ON signals of the optical sensor 12 and measures the outer diameter of the test tube 10. |
