<p>PURPOSE:To control the position of a movable sleeve roll conforming with the shape of a material to be rolled by deciding the most satisfactory work roll profile and comparing corresponding movable sleeve roll position and roll bending force to control the shape. CONSTITUTION:Positions of sleeve rolls 34, 38 are detected by position detectors 68, 69 mounted on bearing parts rotatively supporting backup shafts 32, 36 the supporting point of bending when roll bending 32, 36, the fulcrums of bending when roll bendings are given to work rolls 21, 22 is changed to change the magnitude of the bending moment. Accordingly, the profile of the work roll can be changed arbitrarily by changing the bending force to the interval of a specific sleeve roll. Consequently, the position of the movable sleeve roll can control a movable position after the material to be rolled and therefore, the position of the movable sleeve roll can be controlled conforming with the shape of the material to be rolled and the accurate and quick response of shape control of the material to be rolled can be accomplished automatically.</p> |
