PURPOSE:To provide an emergency lighting device by which an arc is not generated even if the rise time and fall time of two self-exciting inverters are not take into consideration. CONSTITUTION:When power failure is not caused in commercial AC electric power supply E, relay contact points Ry11S1 and Ry11S2 connect a discharge lamp FL and the first self-exciting inverter 12 to each other, and the discharge lamp FL is lighted by the first self-exciting inverter 12. When the power failure is caused, the line between the discharge lamp FL and the second self-exciting inverter 14 is closed, and the discharge lamp FL is lighted by the second self exciting inverter 14. Since a closed circuit containing primary windings CT11a and CT12a is not formed until the relay contact points Ry11S1 and Ry11S2 connect the first or the second self-exciting inverter 12 or 14 and the discharge lamp FL to each other, voltage is not induced to secondary windings CT11b and CT12b. Since the first or the second self-exciting inverter 12 or 14 is not operated, even if the rise time and fall time are not take into consideration, an arc is not generated in the relay contact points Ry11S1 and Ry11S2, so that burning is not caused. |
