According to the present invention, disclosed are an apparatus for controlling a power system synchronizing insertion of a microgrid and a method thereof. The apparatus for controlling a power system synchronizing insertion of a microgrid includes: a connection switch which is installed between a microgrid side and a power system side to connect a microgrid to a power system or separate the microgrid from the power system; and an energy storage device which measures bus voltages of the microgrid side and the power system side respectively to determine whether or not a synchronizing insertion is possible based on the measured bus voltages, and controls an active power output fluctuation or a reactive power output fluctuation while controlling the connection switch for connecting the microgrid to the power system or separating the microgrid from the power system based on the determined result.
