Toasting the slices from the deep-frozen state is also possible without difficulty, but it is difficult to separate the slices in this state if only individual slices are to be removed for toasting. The solution to the problem or the technical object: The individual slices of bread for toasting are separated from one another in the package by a suitable intermediate layer, e.g. cellophane or polyethylene film. Slices of bread for toasting can thus be kept in the freezer or freezer compartment and taken out individually without difficulty for eating, as a result of which the following advantages are achieved: 1.
