In order to reduce the noise generated during the operation of a reluctance motor with reduced reluctance rotor poles (2.1) distributed around the circumference of the rotor, forming recesses (5) having an increased reluctance, the recesses (5) are provided at least on the side of the circumference of the rotor with a filling material (2.11; 3.1, 3.2) with a smooth circumferential surface which prevents noise due to turbulences and with a magnetic conductivity which prevents noise due to magnetostriction or moment pulsation when the rotor is rotated relatively to the stator (1) during operation of the motor.
