PURPOSE:To automatically vary the pitch of a playing element which does not correspond to the scale of an accompaniment part and converts the sound into the sound of the same scale with the accompaniment part for a musical performance if the playing element is operated, for example, when a player ad-libs a melody in harmony with an automatic accompaniment. CONSTITUTION:When an ad lib mode is entered, scale data SD1 corresponding to the time Tsc are read out of CARD 3. Then the shift quantities in the unit of half tone determined by respective scale data are added to 12 pieces of key information having key names C-B to generate a key conversion table in a RAM 1. Afterward the key conversion table is updated at any time at every automatic accompaniment timing. If a key is pressed thereafter, key information in keying information is taken out and used as an address to convert the key information by the key conversion table generated in the RAM 1, so that the information is sent to a sound source 7. |
