PURPOSE:To reduce a heat transfer of billets and to prevent an off-gauge caused by an uneven temp. distribution by holding a rear end of a preceding billet and a front end of a succeeding billet in the state of tightly contacting with each other in the billet proceeding direction in a truck traveling both the billets and mounting a low heat transfer member to a holding surface. CONSTITUTION:On the truck 1 traveling in conforming to the traveling speed of the billet, holders 5A-5D holding the rear end 3a of the preceding billet 3 and the front end 4a of the succeeding billet 4 from the upper and lower sides are provided. Hydraulic cylinders 6A-6D are connected with each holder 5A-5D, and among those, the cylinders 6C, 6D are provided to block members 1c, 1d in the truck 1. Moreover, on the upper and lower sides of the frame body 1b of the truck 1, hydraulic cylinders 7a, 7b are mounted to move the block members 1c, 1d in the proceeding direction of the billet. Moreover, on the holders 5A-5D, a heating device 11 to heat the clipping billets 3, 4 and a billet contacting member 10 made of a low heat transfer material to the side facing the billets 3, 4 are provided. |
