PURPOSE:To improve quick photographing performance by constituting a voice input camera in such a way as to select a desired focus detection area out of plural focus detection areas by the voice of a photographer. CONSTITUTION:Frequency characteristic data is extracted from the voice signals of an operator inputted from microphones 1, 2 so as to extract the voiceprint of the operator. The frequency characteristic data of voice respectively corresponding to focus detection areas is stored in a memory. The area corresponding to the stored focus detection area is displayed on a display part 5 in a finder and an external display part 6. A switch SW1 is then turned off, a flag indicating 'off' is put up, and calibration is performed on the focus detection area unfinished with calibration. This action is repeated to set the focus detection area desired by the operator. With the repetition of calibrating action, the accuracy of base data is improved by learning function, and accuracy at the time of voice recognition control can be improved. |
