<p>PURPOSE: To improve a display system for a process control system by adding windowing capability. CONSTITUTION: The windowing capability can display many windows on the system display device at the same time. The presence of a network display is requested together with a windowing system, so some alterations and improvement are needed to secure proper operation. The improvement includes translation of a communication between the windowing system and a display generator 150 of the process control system. Further, the windowing system can display information from many different applications, so a special item regarding the color map of the display generator 150 is considered so as to secure the completeness of the network display. Further, consideration is so given that the windowing system recognizes many keyboards and pointing devices used by the process control system.</p> |
