<p>PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality by deciding a period of a picture element in the main scanning direction to be inserted or interleaved when the picture is magnified or reduced and converting a phase of the period for each main scanning. CONSTITUTION:Picture data are synchronized with a picture clock from a microprocessor unit(MPU) and latched by latches 31, 32 of a picture processing section for each picture element sequentially. Picture element data in the latches 31, 32 are averaged by an adder 34 and interpolation data are outputted. On the other hand, system data from an MPU are set to an initial value register 37 and its initial value is loaded to a conversion period counter 36 by a line start signal. Then picture elements are counted by a counter 36 synchronously with the picture clock to allow a selector 35 to interleave the picture element for each prescribed period from the initial value. When the interleaving of the 1st line is finished, a different initial value after 2nd and succeeding lines is stored in the register 37 and picture elements at a different position are interleaved.</p> |
