<p>A hygienic cover for the face hole (1) of a treatment couch (9) comprises two sheets of material (2, 3) which can take the configuration of a plane shape portion about the face hole (4) of a treatment couch from which extends a skirt portion (35) into the face hole. In a preferred embodiment the sheets are bonded together around a hole approximately the size of a face hole in the couch. One sheet lies against the couch and the other sheet lines the face hole. In a second preferred form the top sheet has flaps which fold down into a slit in the second sheet which has interlocking means to hold the flaps in place. The face hole cover is replaced after each patient and provides a hygienic barrier to minimise the possibility of cross-infection between patients using the treatment couch. The sheets are preferably formed from a composite material having at least one non-permeable (plastic) layer and at least one absorbent (tissue) layer bonded together.</p> |
