The device according to the invention for separating the fibre web 2 from the doffing cylinder 1 of a card, comprising, downstream of the doffing cylinder, a beating comb 3 and at least one exit calendering cylinder 4, is characterised in that it consists of a toothed cylinder 5 cooperating with the doffing cylinder 1 in order to strip the web 2 from it, the beating comb cooperating with the said toothed cylinder during the starting of the card, in order to separate the web from it and convey it onto the calendering cylinder 4, whilst the web passes directly at high speed from the said toothed cylinder 5 to the said calendering cylinder 4. <IMAGE>
