PURPOSE:To enable the easy and accurate measurement of a stress naturally caused in a ceramic member which is a base material by combining fiber having electric conductivity in the interior of the ceramic member to be the base material. CONSTITUTION:One or plural combined ceramic fibers 2 having properties of changing electric conductivity by receiving force are installed in the interior of a structural member for engineering using an oxide or nonoxide-based ceramic member 1 having insulating properties as a base material. Both ends arc then taken to the outside of the ceramic member 1 and connected to an ammeter 11 and a DC power source 12 to make an electric current flow through the fibers 2. The ammeter 11 is connected to a control circuit 13. When the ceramic member 1 is deformed by receiving heat or an external force, the internal fibers 2 are integrally deformed to change the electrical resistance by generation of electric charge. The controlling circuit 13 receiving a signal according to a change in a value of the flowing electric current controls operating conditions such as temperature, pressure, etc., so as not to deform the ceramic member 1. |
