<p>PURPOSE:To produce a toner at low cost in a simple process, to decrease the particle size of the toner, and to obtain excellent moisture resistance, stable electrification, transmissiveness printed material, and color controlling property by depositing and fixing vinyl polymer fine particles to form a coating layer on the surface of a specified nucleus particle. CONSTITUTION:The nucleus particle contains a coloring agent and a reaction product having 50-98 deg.C softening point and hydroxyl groups which is obtd. by the reaction of fatty acid and polyepoxy compd. On the surface of this particle, vinyl polymer fine particles are deposited and fixed to form a coating layer. In this case, the fatty acid is preferably a straight-chain or branched-chain fatty acid having a carboxyl group at the end of the molecule and 50-98 deg.C melting point, and for example, myristic acid or pentadecyl acid is used. As for the polyepoxy compd., it is preferable to use an epoxy resin produced from bisphenol-A and epichlorohydrin. To the obtd. reaction product, a coloring agent and, if necessary, other additives are mixed and dispersed.</p> |
