Method for electric mash seam welding of two sandwich sheets (1, 2) of the same thickness, each comprising two metal claddings (3, 4) separated by a thin film (5) of synthetic material, characterised in that the two sandwich sheets (1, 2) to be welded are butted together (brought into contact with each other, edge to edge) horizontally, without any contacting force, in order to form a junction plane (8), and in that a strip (9, 11), covering the said junction plane (8), is placed on the two sides of each sheet and in that electric mash seam welding is performed by using two electrically conducting bearing seam-welding wheels (6, 7) each rolling on one of the covering strips (9, 11), causing a welding current to flow, on each side of the sandwich sheets (1, 2), between, on the one hand, the bearing seam-welding wheel (6, 7) and, on the other hand, a part of each of the sheets which is not covered with strip. <IMAGE>
