<p>PURPOSE:To wipe away the oil on a transfer drum in order to prevent the generation of an image defect by the oil transferred from a transfer drum to a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:The band-shaped cleaning member 30 is wound around a lower arbor 22, is put on a press roller 25 and is connected to an upper arbor 23. The member 30 is pressed to the recording material carrying sheet 7g of the transfer drum 7a rotating in an arrow R2 direction. The member 30 is moved in an arrow K1 direction by rotation of the arbor 23 in an arrow R3 direction and is rubbed against the sheet 7g, by which the oil sticking on the sheet 7g is removed. The wiping surface of the member 30 is formed of a non-woven fabric 31. The average size of the fibers of this non-woven fabric 31 is specified to <=10mum, >=70% of the size distribution to <=10mum and the fiber density to 0.05 to 0.80g/cm<3>, by which the performance to clean the oil is improved.</p> |
